The José M. Berrocal Summer Internship Program, of the Financial Advisory Authority and Fiscal Agency of Puerto Rico (AAFAF), offers university students a hands-on, mentorship-based experience within the Government of Puerto Rico, with exposure to areas such as public finance, economic development, and financial advisory services.
The program combines theoretical and practical training to help participants understand how the government operates and to encourage their commitment to public service. It promotes research and professional development in disciplines such as human resources, industrial-organizational psychology, information systems, finance, economics, accounting, and law. In addition, students participate in lectures led by officials from the three branches of government, addressing key topics such as debt restructuring, the PROMESA Act, economic development, and government modernization through information technology and human resources.
