Former Executive Directors

Recognizing the leadership that helped shape AAFAF's mission and institutional foundation.
Gerardo J. Portela Franco
From 2017, Portela was the Executive Director of AAFAF, where he played a pivotal role in the Government's PROMESA-guided fiscal and debt restructuring before his departure in 2018.
Christian Sobrino Vega
Served as AAFAF's Executive Director beginning July 31, 2018. Sobrino was a key leader in the Government's fiscal and debt restructuring efforts under PROMESA before leaving his post later in 2019.
Omar J. Marrero Díaz
Served as Executive Director following Sobrino. Marrero led the agency's coordination with the Financial Oversight Board and broader fiscal strategy for several years
